MUBI
London
About MUBI

MUBI is a global streaming service, production company and film distributor dedicated to elevating great cinema. To make this possible, we create, curate, acquire and champion visionary films, bringing them to audiences all over the world. And we have a team of brilliant, ambitious and passionate individuals to help bring our mission to life. From London to New York, Istanbul to Paris, and Berlin to Mexico - we work together to realize MUBI’s vision.

That’s where you come in! Join our global team and help us make great cinema accessible to everyone, everywhere.

About The Role

MUBI is entering an exciting new phase of growth — and we're looking for a Head of Financial Operations to help us scale smoothly and sustainably.

Based in our London HQ, you’ll lead a small team across Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Payroll. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Accounting and Reporting, and across the wider business to improve processes, strengthen controls, and help build a finance function that’s ready for the next stage.

This is a pivotal role for someone who enjoys building smart, scalable systems and wants to shape the operational backbone of a growing global business.

Where you’ll have impact:

  • Lead our core Finance operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
  • Support and develop junior team members with clear guidance and feedback, overseeing the end-to-end payment processes.
  • Help shape a scalable Finance function by using data to inform decisions and evolve with the business.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers through timely, effective communication and delivery.
  • Support the day-to-day running of Finance operations — including payment runs, reconciliations, onboarding, and resolving queries.
  • Continuously improve how we work — championing automation, smarter workflows, and better collaboration across teams to enhance efficiency and data insights.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Finance within a multi-national, multi-currency environment.
  • A clear view of what “good” looks like, with a track record of driving change to improve processes, reduce risk and raising satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to lead, support and develop a team.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and keep things moving.
  • Clear, confident communicator — comfortable working with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Able to drive projects independently and collaborate well with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Bonus skills that aren't essential:

  • Experience in the film industry
  • A recognised Finance qualification (e.g. AAT, ICM, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience with Netsuite
  • Familiarity with applying automation or data management tools, such as the use of scripting, RPA, Python, or generative AI models, will be highly advantageous

If you’re keen to help shape the future of Finance at a company that celebrates great cinema, we’d love to hear from you!

We want to make cinema accessible to everyone. We believe people from different backgrounds bring different ideas that foster innovation and engagement, allowing us to attract great people to develop the best experience for our users.

MUBI is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer. That means it's our responsibility to ensure that all candidates are not discriminated against in our hiring processes and our employment decisions based on their race, color, religion, nationality or ethnic origin, age, gender identity or expression, sex, marital status, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, family or parental status, or any other applicable characteristic.
