Administrative Officer - Independent School - Kensington...

Marchant Recruitment
London

A highly regarded independent school in Kensington & Chelsea is seeking an organised, professional and detail-focused Administrative Officer to join its busy office team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to work in a calm, high-standard environment where attention to detail, excellent communication and a commitment to outstanding service are valued.

The school is known for its strong academic culture, excellent pastoral care and well-established systems. Staff work collaboratively to ensure families, pupils and visitors experience a welcoming, efficient and professional service.

The Role

As Administrative Officer , you will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a professional point of contact for parents, visitors and external enquiries

  • Supporting communication across the school, including emails, letters and routine updates

  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting data entry and document management

  • Assisting with organisation of school events, meetings and administrative processes

  • Supporting pupil-related administration such as registers, reports or student services (as required)

  • Managing post, deliveries and general office coordination

  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure office systems are efficient and consistently followed

This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent written communication and the ability to manage priorities in a busy, high-expectation setting.

The Team

You will join a professional, friendly and well-organised admin team that takes pride in providing a high-quality service. Staff work closely together, supporting senior leaders, teachers and families through clear systems and consistent communication.

The school values discretion, confidentiality and safeguarding, and expects all admin staff to uphold high professional standards at all times.

The School

This independent school offers a calm and purposeful environment with excellent facilities and strong routines. Pupils are well supported and the school places great emphasis on pastoral care, wellbeing and positive relationships with families.

Leadership is supportive and professional, and staff benefit from a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Systems are well established, and staff are supported to learn procedures and contribute to a consistently high standard of service.

What the School is Looking For

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong experience in administration, ideally in a school or similarly professional setting

  • Demonstrate excellent organisation and attention to detail

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Be confident using IT systems, including email, spreadsheets and document tools

  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

  • Work calmly under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively

  • Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture and uphold high standards

Experience in an independent school setting is welcomed but not essential for candidates with strong administrative experience and a professional approach.

Why Join This School

  • Work in a prestigious independent school environment with high standards

  • Professional and supportive admin team with well-established systems

  • Calm, respectful working culture and excellent facilities

  • Opportunity to contribute to a school known for pastoral care and academic success

  • Based in Kensington & Chelsea with strong transport links

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Administrative Officer who wants to play a key role in delivering a high-quality service and supporting the smooth running of a respected independent school in Kensington & Chelsea.
