Caretaker | Bromley
A popular primary school in Bromley is seeking a practical Caretaker to join the site team from January 2026. The Caretaker will oversee site security, manage routine maintenance and carry out small repairs to keep the school running smoothly. A full induction and handover are scheduled before January 2026, with the Caretaker in post from January 2026.

• Caretaker to manage day-to-day site tasks and provide a visible, reliable presence for the school community
The Bromley Caretaker will ensure compliance with routine checks, manage waste, maintain entrances and ensure the site is tidy and welcoming for pupils and parents. The Caretaker will liaise with external contractors, help set up for school events and support emergency responses as required.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily building checks, manage site security and maintain logbooks.
Undertake small-scale repairs and coordinate external contractors for larger jobs.
Maintain grounds, clear pathways and manage bin collections and recycling.
Support event set-up and lettings, providing practical assistance to staff.
Keep accurate health & safety records and ensure compliance across the Bromley site.
Person specification
Practical experience in caretaking or facilities maintenance with strong DIY skills.
Health & safety awareness and confidence managing contractors and inventory.
Reliable, flexible and prepared to start January 2026, attending pre-start handover and induction.
