The Opportunity & Role Profile
This welcoming primary school in Haringey is looking for a reliable and proactive Caretaker. You will be the primary point of contact for the school's site maintenance and security, ensuring the building is safe, clean, and welcoming for young pupils and staff every day.
Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope
Site Security: Responsible for the daily opening and locking of the school site, managing the intruder alarm, and performing key holder duties.
General Maintenance: Carrying out essential DIY tasks, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and painting, as well as supervising external contractors.
Grounds Upkeep: Ensuring all playground areas and pathways are clear of hazards and managing the school’s recycling and waste procedures.
Compensation & Benefits
Essential Requirements: Proven experience in caretaking or a trade (plumbing/joinery). Must have a flexible approach and a commitment to child safety.
Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale with Inner London weighting.
