Interim CPO (Part Time 3 days/week)

• Length: 6 months intially
• Rate: £850-£1000/day inside IR35
• Location: London / Hybrid - with flexibility to work from home and attend the office as required

Oakleaf Partnership are are partnering with a unique, high-growth software development company on an exciting opportunity for an interm CPO. This is a pivotal role within a founder-led, entrepreneurial business, working directly with the CEO and COO to shape and deliver a people strategy that supports scale, innovation, and long-term growth.This is not a 'business as usual' HR role, it's a chance to influence at Board level, steer the leadership team through change, and define what "destination for talent" truly means for a business on the journey to becoming investor-ready and expanding internationally.

What is the role:

Partner closely with the CEO and COO, providing challenge, coaching and strategic input while navigating a fast-paced, founder-led environment.Shape and deliver the people strategy, turning the vision of "destination for talent" into a clear plan that attracts, engages and develops top talent.Support with their tech transformationCoach and develop both the Exec team and wider HR function, including the Head of HR.Influence at Board level while keeping a strong balance between people-centricity and commercial outcomes.Drive organisational development and cultural initiatives to make the business a true employer of choice.

Skills and Experience:

You must have proven experience as a CPO within an SME founder-led business You must have a strong track record of shaping and delivering people strategy in scaling, fast-paced environments.Confidence to challenge senior leaders constructively and diplomatically, while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships.A creative and pragmatic approach, able to understand 'as is,' define 'where to,' and deliver incremental steps to get there.Hands-on capability to get involved in both strategic and operational people activity.Excellent communication skills - transparent, authentic and engaging, with the ability to bring people with you through change.This is a truly unique opportunity to step into a role that combines strategic influence, hands-on delivery, and the chance to shape the culture of a high-growth, entrepreneurial company at a pivotal stage in its journey.
