Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Crisis Café Team Coordinator, to work in the Twickenham and Kingston areas. The services provide a vital out-of-hours service supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises.

The successful candidate will be required to work between 22 - 29 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rolling two weekly rota (working 3 days one week and 4 days the next). Weekday shifts are 5.30PM - 10:30PM, Saturday shifts are 1:30PM - 10:30PM and Sunday shifts are 1:30PM - 9PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2 months, with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is £15.90 per hour, with £2.31 holiday pay, totalling £18.21 per hour.

Please note; the role covers two services in Twickenham and Kingston.

In this position, you will be expected to;

* Be responsible for the successful delivery of the Richmond and Kingston Recovery Hubs, providing a vital recovery pathway to prevent escalation of mental health problems.

* Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery/coordination of the service, i.e. client allocation, staff rotas, shift cover and delivery of groups and activities

* Lead and support 2-3 staff members (Support Workers, Outreach Worker & Volunteers) to ensure effective operation of the café. This includes providing guidance and support to team members and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

* Oversee case work, effectively coaching the team on their one-to-one cases, developing training, delivering feedback and job shadowing opportunities and covering some case work in person

* Carry out operational management including: operational reporting, promotion of the Crisis Café and Journey Recovery Hub services, outreach with other agencies including NHS and partners for in and outbound referrals, and internal colleagues

* Ensure that people using the service are supported to develop self-management strategies and make the best use of their local resources.

* Lead on identifying areas for development and improvement for the service, to work with Service Manager to ensure that crisis interventions represent best practices and meet local need

* Provide up to date information and advice to the team that informs clients about services and resources available and to signpost and/or refer individuals to other agencies as appropriate.

* Identify potential risks within the service and communicate and manage risk and safeguarding issues effectively

* Establish excellent working relationships with out-of-hours services such as Police, Crisis Teams and GPs, particularly around inward and outward referrals

* Ensure timely monthly monitoring and reporting of service in line with the service contract and ensure team members input data efficiently on the databases

* Be responsible for Finance and HR in line policies and procedures, to ensure monthly returns are completed, petty cash, sickness and annual leave are recorded accurately

* Adhere to the safeguarding adults and children policy, following reporting and recording processes in the event of any safeguarding incidents.

* Manage incidents with the support of the Service Manager or the on-call manager and to ensure the effective recording of all incidents

To apply for this role, you must have;

* Experience of delivering support to vulnerable adults and groups to increase their independence and develop self-management strategies (especially in mental health)

* Demonstrable experience of managing emotional situations (de-escalating mental health crisis regularly/situations which have tested resilience)

* Experience of managing small teams and volunteers with strong leadership skills

* Experience of managing risk and conducting assessments

* Working knowledge of the recovery approach in mental health service provision

* Have a broad academic understanding of mental health diagnosis and how to support someone in crisis

* Capable of working under own initiative, planning and prioritising own workloads

* Knowledge of Suicide prevention strategy Nationally

* Good literacy, maths and IT skills including being able to use CRM systems to log data

* Desirable: Mental Health First Aid Training and/or Suicide prevention Training

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
