As we continue to modernise and transform our technology landscape, we are seeking a Business Analyst (Technology) to play a key role in shaping change initiatives that improve processes, systems, and customer outcomes.

The Role

As a Business Analyst, you will be accountable for managing key business stakeholders to define requirements for change initiatives. You’ll ensure alignment to business benefits, support quality delivery, and assure testing of requirements. This role is central to bridging business needs with technology solutions, helping Royal Mail deliver value efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate workshops to elicit, challenge, and convert business, functional, and non‑functional requirements into process/system solutions.

  • Document requirements clearly and concisely for handover to delivery teams including Solution Architects and Test Leads.

  • Maintain requirements integrity, acceptance criteria, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Assess business benefits and impacts of change requests to scope and requirements.

  • Ensure quality and timeliness of analysis, specifications, and acceptance criteria while supporting risk and issue management.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in at least one key business area.

  • Challenge stakeholders to balance cost, time, and quality for optimum delivery outcomes.

  • Work across multiple projects and functional domains, conducting AS‑IS/TO‑BE analysis and gap assessments.

About You

We’re looking for a proactive, solution‑focused Business Analyst with strong stakeholder management skills and a passion for delivering value through technology.

Key Competencies & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering Business Analysis within technology projects impacting multiple systems and stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership in meetings and workshops, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • High competency in BA skills: requirements gathering, process mapping, data analysis, benefits realisation, root cause analysis, and acceptance criteria definition.

  • Skilled in BA tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Jira, and other industry standards.

  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, producing user stories, use cases, or requirements matrices.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong presentation abilities.

  • Resilient, persistent, and able to maintain progress in complex environments.

  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

  • Customer‑centric mindset with innovative problem‑solving skills.

  • Desirable: deep functional domain knowledge and experience.

Why Join Us?

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping Royal Mail’s technology transformation.

  • Work across diverse projects and domains, gaining exposure to senior stakeholders.

  • Be part of a collaborative, solution‑focused team delivering real business value.

  • Join a trusted organisation with a proud heritage and an exciting future in digital innovation.

Apply today to help Royal Mail deliver smarter, more efficient technology solutions that support our customers and business transformation.
