Compliance and Regulatory Manager
About Us:
Hi there 👋 We’re Wild. We’re on a mission to remove single-use plastic from the bathroom, armed with our refillable, natural and scent-sational deodorants, body wash, haircare and lip balm – and we’ve only just started. We launched in 2020 and as a high-growth company, we’re already one of Europe’s fastest-growing start-ups 🚀 So, fancy coming along for the ride?😃
The Role:
We’re now looking for a Compliance and Regulatory Manager to lead and manage
regulatory compliance across Wild’s operations, from product development and
packaging to marketing claims and supply chain standards. You’ll oversee compliance with global regulations (UK, EU, USA- we are expanding quickly!), manage relationships with Responsible Persons, ensure accurate product documentation, and review artwork and claims for regulatory approval.
You’ll also support risk management, contribute to sustainability claims substantiation, and ensure compliance readiness for new product launches. You’ll be responsible for managing and developing our Regulatory & Compliance Executive, ensuring day-to-day tasks are delivered effectively while supporting their growth within the team.
The ideal candidate knows their way around regulations but also loves working with people. You’re organised, detail-focused, and skilled at making complex rules easy for everyone to understand and follow. You’re great at turning compliance from a “checklist” into a real business advantage and will be the go-to person who convinces everyone that compliance isn’t a barrier - it’s the way forward. If you’re passionate about doing things the right way and want to be part of a purpose-led brand, we’d love to meet you!
This role reports into our Head of Product and is a mid-level role.
🚀 Some of your responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance Oversight: ensure all products meet relevant local and international laws, standards, and industry regulations.
- Artwork & Marketing Claims Review: approve packaging and assets to verify all claims (e.g. “natural,” “sustainable”, formula claims) are truthful, accurate, and compliant, worldwide.
- Policy Development & Implementation: create, update, and enforce internal policies to support compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration- including RP engagement: work closely with teams like Marketing, R&D, and Responsible Persons (RP) to align on regulatory requirements and decisions.
- Risk Identification & Mitigation: spot potential compliance risks early and develop strategies to prevent or reduce impact.
- Audit, Reporting & Third-Party Compliance : conduct internal and external audits, track compliance metrics, and ensure suppliers or partners meet required standards.
- Sustainability & ESG Alignment: align regulatory activities with the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals and sustainability commitments, make sure we comply with external organisations' needs for accreditations (B Corp, etc).
- Incident Management & Escalation : handle regulatory incidents (e.g. product recalls or non-compliance issues), investigate root causes, and escalate as needed.
🚀What we need from you:
Please note that we welcome applications from candidates who may not hit every single bullet point on the lists below - if you’re passionate about our mission and feel you have relevant skills and experiences to add value to this role, please apply!
• 3-5 years of hands-on Cosmetics Compliance experience, ideally within Personal
Care
• Deep and up-to-date regulatory expertise that keeps you ahead of the curve
• Sharp attention to detail, you catch what others might miss!
