Responsibilities

• Report directly to the General Counsel (based in London)
• Assist in negotiating product agreements (GMSLA, agency and collateral agreements)
• Support the legal function in multiple generalist areas including commercial aspects, intellectual property, data protection, employment law and litigation
• Review and negotiate third-party contracts, including but not limited to vendor agreements and NDAs
• Work closely with our Sales, Strategy, Operations and Product teams and provide commercial-minded legal support
• Conduct research on legal and regulatory issues to address queries from various business stakeholders

Requirements

• 6+ years Post Qualified Experience, preferably in the capital markets space
• Ideally combined experience in a start-up/fintech/financial services firm with private practice background
• Experience providing general corporate advice and advising on commercial agreements
• General familiarity with UK laws and regulations in the financial services space
• Some transactional experience in financial products/ collateral structures – highly desirable
• IP / tech knowledge and employment law experience – preferable but not required
• Dual NY bar admission / familiarity with US laws and regulations in the financial services - preferable but not required
• Collaborate cross-teams to ensure responsible AI practices and risk mitigation. Experience with AI vendors and infrastructures a plus.
• Proven track record of delivering consistently on complex projects under challenging and time-critical circumstances with a sense of urgency, but with the ability to also keep broader strategic objectives in focus
• Experience and a proven ability in roles requiring excellent analytical skills, legal drafting, and outstanding research ability
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with significant experience and proven success in roles requiring an ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
• Strong organisational skills, methodical and diligent, with superb attention to detail and able to work well under pressure while delivering to high standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, whilst also being someone who knows when to escalate and who collaborates well with other members of the team
• A team player who works with and engages with others to achieve top results.
