A Sustainability Consultant to act as a strategic partner to our clients, you will be guiding B Corp certifications and sustainability strategies while helping drive the continued growth of our impact offering.

The role and its responsibilities

We’re looking for a Sustainability Consultant who is passionate about helping organisations turn sustainability ambition into meaningful action, combining strategic thinking with practical delivery to create lasting impact for our clients .

The exact role definition will be dependent on the desire, capability and experiences of the right person. Key responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Member and leader of our core Impact Team, focused on helping our clients use our expertise in the most valuable and impactful ways for them.

  • Leading a portfolio of clients on their sustainability and ESG journey.

  • Proactively identifying prospective client leads, then designing and selling projects to help our clients utilise our expertise to achieve their sustainability goals.

  • Delivering a high quality service, within budget, that enables long term impact.

  • Translating and unpacking technical concepts to our clients and community through presenting, hosting workshops and delivering final reports to key stakeholders including senior or board level client team.

  • Identifying needs that the clients may not recognise and ensuring approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs.

  • Contributing to process improvement and optimisation in how and what we deliver, considering processes and tools, identifying and enabling how we can be better.

  • Building strong and lasting relationships with colleagues, clients and our wider community.

  • Representing Seismic at industry events, conferences and round tables.

About you

You believe that humanity and businesses need to make a seismic shift in the right direction and want to apply your consulting and analytical capabilities to help make that happen. At the same time you want to work in a friendly, collaborative and empathetic team who are delivering impactful projects for high-profile clients. You will especially enjoy working at Seismic if you have a growth mindset and are comfortable with uncertainty , as we are a fast-growing, agile and evolving business.

To be successful in this role you would need the following attributes:

  • You are passionate about sustainability having worked in a client facing consulting environment helping organisations set strategies across the range of ESG topics.

  • Technical expertise across sustainability which could include, B Corp, ESG Strategies, KPI and target setting, materiality assessments, reporting, ambitions workshops etc.

  • You have had some exposure to a professional services working environment.

  • Confident and competent consulting skills, including building client relationships, project management, report writing, presenting, and ultimately enabling impact and client success.

  • Your written and in-person communication style is clear and concise.

  • You act with empathy in a ‘human first’ way.

  • You are excited about the opportunity to be part of a high performing team, learning and growing with Seismic as we deliver our vision.

  • You have strong self-awareness and can easily adapt to different clients, from energetic SMEs to complex large corporates.

  • You are happy thinking on your feet and can adapt existing plans to changing circumstances.

  • You enjoy building relationships across the company and with clients.

You are proactive, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy juggling multiple projects and priorities and enjoy just the right amount of time pressure to help keep productive and focused. You are a ‘people person’ with a knack for building relationships.

In your first 100 days you will:

  • Be paired with a dedicated manager and buddy to accelerate your integration and professional development.

  • Go through our onboarding programme with training across all our sustainability services

  • Join our fortnightly Personal Growth sessions and Friday checkout

Location

Ideally you will be within commuting distance of our London office, attending the office (Waterloo) at least twice per week.

Working hours

We believe in flexible working hours to better suit our personal lives while being considerate of each other and our clients. We generally work office hours but trust each other to make fair decisions. We are also open to discussing part-time work arrangements.
