A successful and well-regarded secondary school in Haringey is seeking to appoint an experienced, organised, and proactive Exams Officer to join its dedicated support staff team from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled school examinations professional to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all internal and external examinations. The role would suit an experienced Exams Officer or a strong school administrator ready to specialise within a high-achieving and supportive school environment.
The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of examinations administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the highest standards throughout the academic year.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will:
Lead and manage the administration of all internal and external examinations
Coordinate exam entries, amendments, withdrawals, and timetable planning
Liaise with awarding bodies to ensure deadlines and regulations are met
Organise exam venues, seating plans, invigilator schedules, and room allocations
Recruit, train, and manage invigilators throughout the exam season
Oversee access arrangements, special consideration applications, and candidate support
Ensure full compliance with JCQ , awarding body, and school regulations
Produce exam-related reports for Senior Leadership and Heads of Department
Manage results days, post-results services, and appeals processes
Review and improve examinations systems and procedures each year

Candidate Requirements

Have previous experience working as an Exams Officer, Exams Manager, or within school examinations administration
Have strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and awarding body procedures
Have experience using SIMS or other school MIS systems
Possess excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
Can manage multiple deadlines and high-pressure periods effectively
Communicate confidently with staff, students, parents, and external agencies
Are proactive, professional, and solution-focused
Have the ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy at all times
Have the legal right to work in the UK
