SEN Teacher - Primary & Secondary

Ealing, West London | Specialist SEN School | Full-Time | Long-Term
£200 - £280 per day | Immediate or September Start

Are you an experienced SEN Teacher looking for a long-term opportunity within a specialist setting?

Do you enjoy working with pupils who require a highly personalised approach to learning, behaviour and emotional development?

Would you like to join a growing SEN provision where you can have a genuine influence on curriculum, pupil outcomes and the wider development of the school?

A well-established specialist SEN school in Ealing, West London is seeking experienced Teachers to join its Primary and Secondary provisions on a full-time, long-term basis.

The school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, with a particular focus on SEMH, Autism, communication needs and pupils who may have experienced disrupted education or exclusion from mainstream settings . Many pupils require a highly individualised approach to learning, alongside consistent routines, strong relationships and clear emotional and behavioural support.

Classes are small, allowing teachers and support staff to build strong relationships with pupils and deliver learning around individual starting points, EHCP outcomes and personal development needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working creatively and flexibly, with opportunities available across both Primary and Secondary age groups depending on experience and preference.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching a small specialist class within either the Primary or Secondary provision.
  • Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons based around individual pupil needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism and additional learning or communication needs .
  • Adapting curriculum content to ensure pupils can access meaningful and engaging learning.
  • Creating structured, consistent and nurturing classroom environments.
  • Using positive behaviour support and relationship-based approaches to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Supporting pupils who may have experienced exclusion, school refusal or disruption to their education.
  • Helping pupils rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships with education and make sustained progress.
  • Monitoring academic, social and emotional progress through assessment and individual target setting.
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews, Annual Reviews and wider pupil planning.
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other specialist professionals.
  • Liaising with parents, carers, local authorities and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and wider school improvement.
  • Promoting independence, resilience, communication and positive preparation for future education and adulthood.
  • Maintaining strong safeguarding and pastoral standards for every pupil.

We are looking for teachers who:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching within SEN, SEMH, Alternative Provision or a highly inclusive mainstream setting.
  • Are confident supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and communication needs.
  • Can adapt curriculum content significantly around individual learning profiles.
  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Take a calm, consistent and relationship-focused approach.
  • Are confident working with Teaching Assistants and wider multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Have experience liaising with families and external agencies.
  • Are proactive, resilient and committed to inclusive education.
  • Are interested in developing their career within specialist education.

Previous specialist SEN experience is highly desirable, although strong mainstream teachers with significant experience of supporting pupils with additional needs will also be considered.

You will be joining an established specialist education group offering strong leadership support, ongoing CPD and genuine progression opportunities as its provision continues to develop.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking for a long-term position where they can have a meaningful impact on pupils who require a more personalised and therapeutic approach to education.
