This welcoming Walthamstow primary school is seeking a Early Years Teaching Assistant - Graduate Role to join its nurturing Early Years team to join the team ASAP. With small class sizes, a warm staff team and a strong community ethos, the school provides a fantastic environment for graduates who want to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
In line with the new EYFS legislation, a relevant degree is essential for this role. As a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital part in helping children in Nursery and Reception settle into school life by fostering curiosity, creativity and emotional growth.
Who We’re Looking for Early Years Teaching Assistant – Graduate Role
To thrive as a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you must have:
A degree in Early Years, Childhood Studies, Education, or another relevant subject (essential under new EYFS legislation)
A genuine passion for supporting young children in their learning and development
Strong communication skills and the ability to build nurturing relationships
An empathetic, caring and resilient nature
An interest in progressing into teacher training or Early Years specialism in the future
Some experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
Key Responsibilities Early Years Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support the learning and development of children in Nursery and Reception
Deliver 1:1 and small group support in areas such as phonics, early writing and numeracy
Provide empathetic care and help children build confidence and independence
Prepare engaging resources and assist with creative, play-based learning activities
Support with classroom routines, organisation, and behaviour management
