YOUR ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an Air Imports Supervisor to join our dynamic Air Freight team based at our London Skyline Office, where you’ll play a key role in driving operational excellence and delivering first-class service to our customers.
As the Air Imports Supervisor for the International Freight Forwarding Operations customs team, you will lead and develop the team, ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements. You’ll play a critical role in driving compliance, supporting operational performance, and delivering a seamless end-to-end service across a 24/7 operation.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Lead, coach, and supervise the IFFO customs team, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures
- Manage daily workloads, delegating tasks effectively to ensure deadlines and service levels are met
- Oversee all customs formalities for import and export shipments across air freight.
- Ensure compliance with all customs regulations, proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks
- Act as a key support function to branches, embedding compliant processes and best practice
- Monitor shipments in transit, driving progress to ensure delivery as planned
- Deliver high levels of customer service through clear and proactive communication
- Take ownership of cost control and P&L, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings
- Work collaboratively across departments to support a 24/7 operation and ensure service continuity
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will have proven air imports experience, ideally within logistics, customs or freight forwarding operations and previous leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to coach, develop and mentor your team. You will have strong knowledge of import and export customs processes across multimodal operations and a solid understanding of compliance requirements and customs regulations.
It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator, problem solver, negotiator and influencer who is commercially aware, able to manage costs and drive efficiencies.
Due to the nature of the role and security clearance requirements it is essential for the successful candidate to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
Experience across sectors such as healthcare, aerospace, and general freight would be advantageous, but not essential.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?
With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance along with access to an employee benefits platform that offers discounts on gym memberships and money off vouchers for a diverse range of retail, travel and hospitality brands. There’s no doubt that you will be compensated for your hard work and commitment so if you’d like to work for one of the top Logistics providers in the world then please do get in touch to find your next role.
