AI Programme Manager

Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Capital Markets | Type: Permanent

Lead complex AI transformation programmes across global Capital Markets organisations

The Role

Join Capco’s Capital Markets practice as an AI Programme Manager, supporting leading investment banks, exchanges, market infrastructure providers, broker-dealers, asset managers, and securities services organisations in delivering large-scale AI transformation initiatives.

This role sits at the intersection of programme leadership, strategic delivery, governance, and AI-enabled business transformation, helping clients scale AI capabilities in a controlled, commercially valuable, and operationally sustainable way across front, middle, and back-office functions.

You will lead complex transformation programmes spanning trading, operations, technology, risk, compliance, regulatory reporting, and product teams, ensuring AI initiatives are effectively governed, strategically aligned, and successfully delivered within highly regulated Capital Markets environments. The role combines strong programme management capability with consulting, stakeholder leadership, commercial awareness, and an understanding of emerging AI technologies and enterprise delivery challenges.

Working closely with senior client stakeholders, delivery teams, and AI specialists, you will oversee delivery roadmaps, programme governance, risk management, reporting, and cross-functional coordination while helping clients navigate the broader organisational, operational, and regulatory considerations associated with AI adoption at scale.

This is also an AI-infused delivery role. You will be expected to be curious, hands-on, and pragmatic in exploring how approved AI tools can improve programme delivery. You will help ensure AI-enabled ways of working remain human-led, context-aware, and fit for purpose, with appropriate governance and controls embedded throughout delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead complex AI and Generative AI transformation programmes across Capital Markets organisations, overseeing governance, delivery planning, RAID management, stakeholder engagement, and programme execution activities using approved AI tools where they improve speed, quality, or insight.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Front Office, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Product, and Regulatory functions to shape delivery roadmaps, align priorities, and ensure successful implementation of AI-enabled capabilities with clear business value, ownership, and controls.

  • Drive programme governance, reporting, KPI tracking, benefits realisation, and delivery oversight across multiple workstreams, ensuring initiatives remain strategically aligned, commercially focused, and operationally sustainable.

  • Support the integration of responsible AI, regulatory, governance, and risk management considerations into programme delivery, including human-in-the-loop controls, auditability, escalation pathways, monitoring frameworks, and alignment with evolving regulatory expectations.

  • Contribute to practice growth through client relationship management, consulting leadership, mentoring, proposition development, and business development activities, while promoting responsible AI adoption across Capital Markets organisations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience leading large-scale business, technology, data, or transformation programmes within Capital Markets environments, with strong exposure to Investment Banking, Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Derivatives, Prime Services, Securities Services, or Market Infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of programme management methodologies, governance frameworks, Agile and hybrid delivery approaches, and enterprise transformation delivery within highly regulated financial institutions.

  • Knowledge of AI technologies, including Generative AI, agentic workflows, intelligent automation, and enterprise AI adoption challenges, alongside an understanding of governance, model oversight, and operational implications.

  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology functions, translating strategic objectives into executable delivery plans, measurable outcomes, and practical AI use cases.

  • Commercially minded and delivery-focused, with strong communication, problem-solving, risk management, and cross-functional leadership capabilities, combined with a curiosity to experiment responsibly with approved AI tools.

Bonus Points For

  • Previous consulting or advisory experience within a professional services environment at Principal Consultant, Programme Director, or equivalent level.

  • Experience delivering transformation programmes across Trading, Electronic Trading, Trade Lifecycle Management, Post-Trade Operations, Regulatory Reporting, Market Risk, Treasury, or Client Lifecycle Management functions.

  • Knowledge of Capital Markets regulations and frameworks including MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, Dodd-Frank, Basel, CFTC, or equivalent global regulatory requirements.

  • Experience supporting AI governance, responsible AI, model risk management, enterprise AI operating models, or scaled AI adoption programmes.

  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, enterprise AI ecosystems, workflow automation solutions, or Capital Markets technology platforms.

Why Join Capco

  • Lead high-impact AI transformation programmes for leading Capital Markets organisations.

  • Work alongside industry specialists across trading, operations, risk, regulation, and emerging technologies.

  • Access continuous learning, leadership development, and industry certifications.

  • Be part of a collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial consulting culture.

  • Help shape the future of AI-enabled transformation across global Capital Markets.

Benefits

  • Core Benefits: Discretionary bonus, competitive pension, health insurance, life insurance and critical illness cover.

  • Mental Health: Easy access to CareFirst, Unmind, Aviva consultations, and in-house first aiders.

  • Family-Friendly: Maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, plus paid leave for sickness, pregnancy loss, fertility treatment, menopause, and bereavement.

  • Holiday Flexibility: 5 weeks of annual leave with the option to buy or sell holiday days based on your needs.

  • Continuous Learning: Minimum 40 Hours of Training Annually, plus a Business Coach assigned from Day One to support your development and career growth.
