Product Owner

We’re looking for a Product Owner (Grade 11) in Rules Management to join Elexon on a permanent basis.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of rules management services and products , ensuring the effective delivery and evolution of industry codes and governance processes , particularly the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) .

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you’ll act as the bridge between industry, governance, and delivery , ensuring changes are well-defined, prioritised, and implemented in line with regulatory and market requirements.

This is a role focused on industry change, governance, and stakeholder alignment , rather than technical product development.

What you’ll do:

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Rules Management products and services

• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, define priorities, and shape product direction

• Translate business needs into user stories, requirements, and delivery plans

• Work closely with delivery teams to ensure successful product development and release

• Ensure products meet regulatory, governance, and operational requirements

• Collaborate with Code Management, Market Design, and other teams to align product and industry changes

• Monitor product performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement

• Support change delivery and implementation of new or updated services

• Communicate product updates, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders and governance forums

• Ensure alignment between product delivery and strategic objectives

What you’ll bring:

• Experience working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role

• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and Agile delivery

• Experience working with stakeholders to define and prioritise requirements

• Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, deliverable outputs

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience working in regulated or complex environments

• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and user feedback

• Experience supporting change or transformation initiatives

• Knowledge of the BSC, energy market, or regulatory frameworks (desirable)

• Experience working with digital products or platforms (desirable)
