About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide tailored support to pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. You’ll assist children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, helping them engage fully in lessons and achieve their personal learning goals. You’ll also provide one-to-one and small group interventions, promote emotional wellbeing, and foster independence in every learner.

Requirements

To succeed as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll need:

• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school setting

• A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to learning and behaviour support

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

• Ideally, relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent experience
