Full-time Coach + Membership Manager

A strength-led, multi-site training facility is looking for an experienced coach to step into a hybrid Membership Manager role. The position is split 80% small group personal training (SGPT) and 20% membership management, with a clear remit around retention, member experience and community. It suits a confident S&C coach who enjoys building relationships as much as delivering sessions, and who wants real ownership of why members stay and why they leave.

The Basics:

● Salary : £40-£45k, depending on experience

● Location : West London

● Hours : Full-time 80% coaching, 20% membership support. Must be flexible to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.

● Start date : ASAP!

Retention is a priority for the business, and this role has been created to own it. The Coach + Membership Manager will be the first point of contact for every member at this site. They will hear what members value and what frustrates them, and turn that into action.

When a member does decide to leave, the Membership Manager will find out why. They will spot the patterns and make sure the same reasons don't come up again.

The role combines this with a substantial coaching load. It suits someone who wants to stay hands-on on the gym floor while building a broader, business-facing skill set.

The Role:

Coaching:

• Deliver high-quality SGPT sessions grounded in sound strength and conditioning principles.

• Coach a more mature membership base with confidence, adapting movements and progressions to individual needs and training history.

• Keep standards of technique, safety and session energy consistently high.

• Build strong relationships with members through the coaching itself.

Membership Management:

• Act as the main point of contact for all members at the site.

• Run regular member conversations and feedback touchpoints to understand what members like, what they don't, and what would keep them training.

• Own the leaver process by speaking to departing members, capturing the reasons behind cancellations and identifying trends.

• Turn member feedback into practical recommendations and follow them through with the wider team.

• Plan and run community events that strengthen connection across the membership.

• Track retention and report on what is and isn't working.

The Person:

• An experienced coach with a solid grounding in the principles of strength and conditioning.

• Confident coaching older and more experienced members, and able to hold their own with a membership that knows what it wants.

• Friendly, personable and naturally comfortable starting conversations.

• Curious about why people stay or leave, and proactive about fixing the causes.

• Organised enough to run events and follow up on feedback alongside a full coaching schedule.

• Relevant PT/S&C qualifications.

• Must be able to get into the studio for 6am start!
