As a Nurse Endoscopist , you will independently perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopies and colonoscopies, in line with JAG (Joint Advisory Group) standards. Key Responsibilities for the Nurse Endoscopist Job in London

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures independently and safely.

  • Manage post-procedure care and provide follow-up advice to patients.
  • Accurately document clinical findings, write reports, and communicate results to the referring clinician.
  • Work closely with gastroenterologists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated patient care.

  • Actively engage in professional development and support the training of junior staff and students.

Requirements for the Nurse Endoscopist Job in London

  • Registered Nurse with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council).
  • Completion of a recognised Nurse Endoscopist training programme.
  • Independent practitioner in endoscopy with competency in upper and/or lower GI procedures.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centred care and service excellence.

Desirable Experience

  • JAG certification or working towards accreditation.
  • Experience with therapeutic endoscopy techniques (e.g., polypectomy, variceal banding).
  • Experience working in an NHS or private healthcare endoscopy unit.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives.
