About the Role
A friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Leyton, East London , is seeking a dedicated and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a long-term, full-time position ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.
The role focuses on supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), speech and language difficulties, and general learning needs . Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or within small groups , depending on the needs of the pupils.

Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities
Support emotional regulation and behaviour using positive strategies
Work closely with teachers to adapt lesson materials
Implement targets from EHCPs and individual learning plans
Support pupils during transitions, playtimes, and lunchtimes
Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience
Assist with personal care where required
Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards
