Role overview:
The IWSR Consulting Team is key to delivering IWSR Group’s world-leading consumer behaviour and attitude insights offering. In 2025, over 250,000 interviews about consumer drinking habits were collected in around 34 consumption markets around the world. Our clients’ needs in understanding how consumers behave is integral to their strategic planning and the Consulting Team is responsible for delivering on this.
The Consumer Project Manager will play a critical role. Sitting within a Consulting team of 15 people, the role requires strong technical capability, confidence in internal and external stakeholder management, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple concurrent consulting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the day-to-day running and prioritisation of multiple complex consumer and mixed-method projects, exercising judgement on scope and delivery with minimal input from Senior Managers and Directors.
· Deliver high-quality consumer consulting projects, including questionnaire design, analysis planning, charting, development of compelling and insightful narratives, and confident delivery of client presentations.
· Accountability for research data interpretation, ensuring clear articulation of the insight and recommendations for clients: The “so what”, “now what”, and “what next”.
· Own day-to-day client relationships on assigned projects, proactively managing goals, to fit their strategic imperatives, expectations, risks, and delivery quality.
· Mentor Senior Project Executives and Project Executives across quantitative and qualitative research projects, supporting both technical development and delivery judgement.
· Support Senior Managers and Directors in the research design of new consumer project proposals, including sampling approaches, methodological frameworks, and scoping input.
· Contribute to commercial development: renewals, and new business opportunities.
· Be responsible for delivering projects within budget and costs to ensure revenue and margin align with scope.
· Work closely with Senior Managers and Directors to identify, prioritise, and propose solutions to resourcing needs across projects.
· Take lead responsibility for training consumer research practices across the team and for new hires.
· Drive continuous improvement within the Consulting Team by contributing to process reviews and leading innovation initiatives through to delivery.
· Demonstrate effective collaboration across IWSR Consulting and the wider Mindset team, contributing to integrated delivery and shared ways of working.
Skills & Experience:
Essential skills:
· Minimum 3-years of experience in commercial quantitative market or consumer research, particularly large-scale, survey-based research.
· Strong understanding of best practices and end-to-end workflows in representative consumer research, including sampling approaches, questionnaire design, qualitative analysis techniques and principles.
· Excellent working knowledge of qualitative analysis techniques and principles with clear examples of designing and analysing data.
· Ability and confidence to translate research findings into actionable business insights to enable decision making
· Demonstrable experience liaising directly with clients, showcasing ability to manage their questions, expectations and provide evidence and data-based solutions.
· Advanced abilities in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
· Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
· Excellent interpersonal and people management skills. Example both with clients and internal stakeholders.
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
· High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability.
· Strong ability to adapt and form solutions to fast paced environments.
Desirable:
· Alc-Bev or wider drinks industry experience.
· Fluency in any of the following foreign languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Mandarin, Japanese
· Basic commercial acumen (pricing, scope, effort vs value)
· Proficiency in SPSS or Q statistical analysis software
· Market Research Society Advanced Certificate or equivalent
· Practical application of AI tools in research, synthesis, or delivery
