DevOps Engineer
IntaPeople are proud to be supporting a well-established organisation who require an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join as their cross functional Software Development team. This newly created role will complement an existing team of Engineers to help service offerings and elevate their DevOps capability.
This role plays a key part in the delivery of high-quality products within the software development team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines and play a pivotal role in migration of current hosting to a full or hybrid cloud solution.
Working as part of a wider team, you will collaborate with other Ops Engineers, Software Developers, QA Engineers to streamline deployment and infrastructure management processes.
Essential Skills
- Experience working as DevOps Engineer (3-5+ years min)
- Experience working in a Proxmox virtualization environment
- Strong experience with CI/CD practices and tools
- Experience Docker and Docker Swarm
- Experience working with tools such as Ansible GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Infrastructure as Code methodologies using Terraform/ OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar
- Linux administration (Ubuntu/Debian)
- Bash /Powershell scripting
Responsibilities (at glance):
- Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Managing a Proxmox environment with linux based Docker hosts
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline
- Support and train technical staff in upskilling necessary for ongoing operations
- Monitor and ensure system reliability, availability, and performance using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Icinga2, Grafana, and Datadog
- Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
Desirable skills
- Travis CI
- Monitoring – Grafana, Icinga Prometheus
- Rabbit MQ/AMQP
- Working knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, ECS/EKS, Lambda
- Kubernetes
- DBMS experience such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
Having experience with microservices architecture, Amazon Web Services, PHP and JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js would be highly desirable but not essential.

- A competitive starting salary of £75,00 - £80,000 depending on experience
