Year 3 Teacher - Lewisham
A well-resourced primary in Lewisham is recruiting an enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher to start January 2026. The successful Year 3 Teacher will plan and deliver carefully sequenced lessons that develop pupils’ fluency in reading, writing and mathematics. This Year 3 Teacher will contribute to phase planning, lead small-group support and work with colleagues to embed high-quality learning routines. The appointment will begin January 2026, and the new Year 3 Teacher will take part in induction activities in the weeks ahead of January 2026.

The Year 3 Teacher will use assessment to pinpoint next steps, provide timely interventions and adapt resources to meet a range of needs. Working in Lewisham, the Year 3 Teacher will benefit from coaching, collaborative planning time and strong pastoral support from the leadership team. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver sequenced Year 3 lessons that build knowledge and key skills.
- Use assessment information to prioritise learning and run targeted small-group work.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants to scaffold learning and support inclusion.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to moderation activities.
- Engage constructively with families and attend termly review meetings.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with demonstrable, recent experience in KS2 and Year 3 classrooms.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and mathematics with effective assessment practice.
- Calm, organised and able to establish positive classroom routines.
- Enthusiastic about working in Lewisham and available to start January 2026.
