Fabric Development Manager, Menswear
What’s the role about?
We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Fabric Manager to lead the sourcing and development of fabrics for our Menswear department, covering both formal and casualwear wovens. In this role, you’ll work closely with Design, Product Development, fabric agents, and mills to deliver the best-quality fabrics at the right price, aligned with the Reiss DNA. You’ll also lead the fabric team and take full ownership of fabric development, strategy, and sustainability initiatives across the Menswear division.
Who you are
- An experienced fabric or textile professional with a strong understanding of menswear sourcing and production.
- Commercially focused, with a track record of negotiating costs, managing budgets, and driving margin improvements.
- Knowledgeable about fabric trends, quality standards, and the competitive landscape.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple fabric developments and critical path deadlines.
- Experienced in sustainable fabrics and responsible sourcing practices.
- A natural leader and collaborator who can manage a team and work effectively across multiple departments.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading seasonal fabric sourcing and development, from lab dips and mill collections to finished product delivery.
- Driving the Reiss DNA in all fabric developments while keeping up to date with trends and competitor activity.
- Overseeing all woven product categories, ensuring factories receive accurate fabric details and sampling fabrics are delivered on time.
- Attending Pre & Post Buy meetings, negotiating fabric prices, payment terms, and booking deadlines to meet critical path requirements.
- Approving all bulk submits and test reports, resolving production issues, and managing high-volume greige orders.
- Leading sustainability initiatives, ensuring fabrics are responsibly sourced, certified, and meet company sustainability targets.
- Creating seasonal fabric strategies to support Menswear sourcing, quality, and sustainability goals.
- Providing leadership and development for the Menswear Fabric Coordinator, fostering collaboration within the team and across departments.
What we’ll do for you
- Competitive salary and company bonus.
- Up to 65% employee discount.
- Access to exclusive sample sales.
- Aviva DigiCare+ wellbeing services.
- Medicash health support plan.
- Workplace pension contributions.
- Enhanced parental leave policies.
- Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus Energy.
- Cycle to Work programme.
- Season ticket travel loan.
- Plus further workplace benefits.
