Duties and Responsibilities

As Laundry Supervisor, I will support Housekeeping management and assume responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:

  • Supervise Housekeeping hosts ensuring high standard of order, hygiene, sanitation, cleanliness and aesthetic value throughout all service areas and assist when necessary.
  • Monitor daily washing, drying, ironing, collecting, and delivery service according to the hotel policy.
  • Watch for defects and is responsible for the immaculate appearance of laundered items.
  • Ensure Housekeeping hosts have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective area of responsibilities.
  • Administer schedules to ensure enough coverage.
  • Responsible for the immaculate appearance of all areas of responsibility and cares for all details.
  • Maintain stock level requirements of materials, equipment and general supplies and ensures requisitions are made as required.
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery is cleaned and maintained in good condition and stored correctly.
  • Behave in an ecologically friendly manner, help to reduce the amount of energy and cleaning supplies.
  • Respond to guest requests and immediately handles issues and feedback related to Laundry.
  • Monitor and schedule regular deep cleaning projects of Laundry area when required.
  • Support Housekeeping management with focus on the rejuvenation of the laundry experience. Amenities, services and products will be constantly assessed to remain relevant and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of all facilities and services offered by the hotel including type of rooms available as well as their location and layout, room amenities and products.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.
  • Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
  • Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Laundry Supervisor, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a similar operational setting. Hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school is preferred.
  • Good understanding of scheduling work, and knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals and surfaces. Confident with knowledge of fabric types, colours and fabric care.
  • Technical skills include MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including POS, PMS and CRM platforms. I have knowledge of hotel policies regarding reservations, discounts and detailed procedures in handling local and overseas room bookings.
  • Intuitive sense of product and service quality, a passion for excellence and an understanding of the sophisticated needs of the luxury customer.
  • Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.
