Technician (Data & Analytics)

This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland. About the Organisation: PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future. We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services., As a Data & Analytics Senior Technician, you will play a key role within the Data & Analytics function, supporting the delivery of high-quality business intelligence and data solutions that underpin critical decision-making across the organisation. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the design, development and optimisation of data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and business intelligence reporting tools. Your work will involve translating technical requirements into scalable data solutions, ensuring data is processed, structured and presented effectively to meet organisational needs. The postholder will collaborate closely with analysts, developers and stakeholders to support the delivery of innovative data solutions, contributing to both routine (BaU) services and wider digital delivery initiatives. This will include working within agile and DevOps environments, supporting delivery against defined project plans and milestones. You will also support the continuous improvement of data services, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, reliability and scalability of existing solutions, while maintaining high standards of data quality and governance.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically skilled individual with strong experience in data, business intelligence and analytics. You will bring:
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing data and BI solutions, including the design and build of data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and analytical processing using modern tools and techniques
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • The ability to analyse complex requirements and develop effective, innovative solutions to technical challenges
  • Experience of working within data and digital delivery environments, with an understanding of agile or DevOps practices, and a proven ability to deliver work to agreed timescales and quality standards
  • You will also demonstrate:
