Morgan Stanley Investment Research is one of the financial industry's dominant thought leaders in equity and Fixed-Income investing. Our teams collaborate to assist Morgan Stanley clients with investment decisions, using cash and derivative instruments across major asset classes and geographies. The Global G10 FX Strategy team is seeking a macro strategist to join the team in London. The primary responsibility would be to maintain and develop existing and new tools for FX analysis, with the opportunity to be the primary coverage area for some European G10 currencies.

What will you be doing?
  • You will be able to take part in all aspects of the research production - from idea generation, data analysis, report writing and then promoting to clients.
  • You will be working with Head of G10 FX Strategy in London and helping to maintain and develop existing and new tools for FX analysis.
  • You will have the opportunity to be the primary coverage area for some European G10 currencies.
  • You will be responsible for writing daily commentary on market developments.
  • You will be writing longer reports with investment recommendations.
  • You will be presenting team views on FX markets on calls with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will be building relationships with sales and trading team.
What we're looking for:
  • You have a strong academic background with a degree in a business related field, or equivalent.
  • A strong interest in global macro and Developed Markets is a critical pre-requisite for the role, including in both macroeconomics and financial market issues.
  • Previous work experience in FX and understanding of Interest Rate markets is essential
  • Statistical and quantitative skills with a background in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of various coding languages packages would be desirable.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate competence with numerical concepts and tools.
