Animal Management Lecturer

College location: John Ruskin College (Selsdon)

Salary: 0.6 FTE (3days/week) £29,373 - £41,718 pro rata (subject to qualifications, skills, and experience)

A remarkable and unique opportunity has arisen at John Ruskin College as we seek to appoint a Lecturer in Animal Management to teach on Level 1–2 Animal Welfare & Management, with aspirations to expand delivery to Level 3 in the near future.

This is a part-time role (3 full days per week), with exciting potential to grow. Additional sessional hours may be availableas student numbers increase, offering the opportunity to build towards full-time hours.

This role sits within a brand-new and rapidly growing department, offering the successful candidate a rare chance to shape its future. You will play a key role in the development of the curriculum, contribute to the design of new facilities, and help establish a vibrant learning environment that includes small mammals and reptiles as part of our hands-on teaching resources.

The successful candidate must have:

• A Teaching qualification at level 3 or above. If you're not yet a qualified lecturer, we can support you to gain your teaching qualification while you earn, providing full teacher training and development to help you build a successful career in Further Education.
• A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in animal science, zoology, veterinary science, or a related field is desirable
• Experience working in the animal management industry or a similar educational setting.
• Previous, relevant FE teaching experience
• Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
