The Role
YouLend has an incredible opportunity available within our dynamic Credit Operations team. You will join our Payments sub-team to build and maintain an in-depth understanding of our platform and provide support to the rest of the business which includes problem solving, data analysis and other ad hoc projects.
We are constantly innovating and automating workflow, and you will be expected to contribute your views on how we can continuously improve and better integrate workflows. You will support your Team Lead and agree strategies to improve both our customer service, payments and funding processes.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Daily execution of payments, including Faster Payments, International Payments, in line with the agreed cut offs.
- Reconcile the correct allocation of incoming payments within agreed times scales.
- Investigate and correctly resolve payment exceptions, (e.g. rejections, bounce backs, etc.)
- Completing Post Funding Requests in line with SLAs
- Liaising with internal and external partners regarding payment delays, as applicable, and managing the solution to those delays with the Payments Team Lead
- Assigning payments from third party debt purchasers
- Monitoring transactions to identify and prevent fraud.
- Liaise with colleagues and external parties to promptly and effectively answer any payment related queries. Ensure service provided is to a high standard and make recommendations to improve and streamline processes and interactions.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the payments platform.
- Manage your time effectively to ensure all critical tasks are completed and deadlines achieved.
- Ensure timely completion of projects and goals in accordance with engagement and requirements.
- Be the point of contact for payment related queries
Essential Skills:
- Payments experience in a fintech environment: possessing an understanding of payments operations, transaction flows, operational controls, and experience working across multiple payment schemes and geos.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly learn new processes and systems, and consistently meet high accuracy and quality standard.
- Demonstrated competency using Excel to an intermediate level, including formulas such as XLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), IF statements, and text formulas.
- Previous experience using SQL (or other coding languages) to extract, manipulate, and analyse data in order to generate accurate and meaningful reports that support business decision-making and process improvements.
- Track record of using data tools in driving process change, improvement or efficiency savings in current role.
- Previous experience performing financial or transactional reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and resolving breaks in a timely manner.
- Experience working within FCA rules and guidelines, particularly in relation to safeguarding of client funds and regulatory compliance in payments.
- Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a high intensity, high demand and time sensitive environment.
- Must possess critical thinking, analytic and problem solving skills to be used in operational planning and evaluation.
- Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional manner.
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to work independently; take initiative; and adapt to change.
- Strong problem solving ability.
- Strong processing and analytic skills with the ability to analyse large amounts of data, decipher higher risk attributes, and handle appropriately.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of AML procedures
