Senior Brand & Internal Comms Designer

Starling
London

Description

Hello, we’re Starling. We built a new kind of bank because we knew technology had the power to help people save, spend and manage their money in a new and transformative way.

We’re a fully licensed UK bank with the culture and spirit of a fast-moving, disruptive tech company. We’re a bank, but better: fairer, easier to use and designed to demystify money for everyone. We employ more than 3,500 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.

We’re looking for a Senior Designer to join our brand studio in London. This role is a rare blend, as you’ll split your time between designing for our marketing channels and creating inspiring work for our 4,000 team members across the UK.

From a standout social post to a beautifully crafted internal campaign, you’ll help shape how Starling shows up, both inside and out. You’ll work closely with our Marketing and People teams to bring ideas to life with clarity, creativity and care.

You’ll be comfortable working across formats – digital, print, motion and more – and bring a thoughtful, crafted approach to everything you make.

  • Deliver high-quality design work across marketing and internal communications
  • Translate creative briefs into clear and effective design ideas
  • Take ownership of your projects from concept to delivery

  • Present your work clearly and confidently to peers and stakeholders

Cross-Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with writers, creatives, and business stakeholders
  • Balance multiple priorities across internal and external projects
  • Contribute to creative reviews with constructive feedback and fresh thinking

Brand Application and Internal Expression:

  • Apply our visual identity consistently across all touchpoints
  • Adapt the brand sensitively for internal-facing materials
  • Support the rollout of campaigns and initiatives for team engagement
  • Help evolve the brand through thoughtful, human-centred design

Creative Thinking and Development:

  • Stay curious about culture, design and storytelling
  • Bring new inspiration and ideas into the studio
  • Take initiative in growing your skills and learning from others
  • Contribute positively to the culture of the creative team

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of design experience in brand, marketing, or internal comms
  • A portfolio that shows strong visual craft, versatility, and creative ideas
  • Experience designing within a brand or visual identity system
  • Proficiency in tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • An eye for storytelling, tone and emotional impact

Benefits

  • 25 days holiday (plus take your public holiday allowance whenever works best for you)
  • An extra day’s holiday for your birthday
  • Annual leave is increased with length of service, and you can choose to buy or sell up to five extra days off
  • 16 hours paid volunteering time a year
  • Salary sacrifice, company enhanced pension scheme
  • Life insurance at 4x your salary
  • Private Medical Insurance with VitalityHealth including mental health support and cancer care. Partner benefits include discounts with Waitrose, Mr&Mrs Smith and Peloton
  • Generous family-friendly policies
  • Perkbox membership giving access to retail discounts, a wellness platform for physical and mental health, and weekly free and boosted perks
  • Access to initiatives like Cycle to Work and Salary Sacrificed Gym partnerships
