About the Role

A welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a skilled BSL Teaching Assistant to join their team from 6th October. The successful candidate will use British Sign Language (BSL) to support pupils with hearing impairments, ensuring they can fully access lessons, participate in class activities, and feel included in the school community.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate BSL Teaching Assistant who is committed to supporting children's learning and communication needs in a mainstream primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support using BSL.

• Facilitate communication between pupils, teachers, and peers.

• Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.

• Encourage social and emotional development alongside academic progress.

• Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external specialists.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified or experienced BSL Teaching Assistant (minimum Level 2 BSL preferred).

• Previous experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to learning support.
