Head of Network Sector Coverage UK
As Head of the Network Sector Coverage (NSC) Team within ING UK, you and your team are responsible for servicing subsidiaries of non-UK Corporate Clients in the UK. Managing a diverse team in terms of nationality, cultural background, experience level & gender; you are a leader with a pro-active attitude, and you feel comfortable in an international setting.
This role requires teambuilding in an agile work environment and effective long-term relationship building with the ING international network and your clients at multiple levels, thereby representing ING’s full-service pallete and solid reputation. You work closely with other departments and manage together the best possible offering for the clients.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
To manage the client portfolio, the team works closely together with RAMs, PAMs, product specialists and sector teams across the world. Together with PAMs and RAMs you and your team determine the client approach locally and sometimes regionally as RAM. You are located in the London office as part of the Sector team and you will be reporting hierarchically into the Head of Sector Coverage UK and functionally into the Global Head of Network Sector Coverage.
The team has recently undergone a transformation and holds a strong foundation for future growth. The Network Sector Coverage Team in UK is expected to contribute further to Wholesale Bank (WB) growth ambitions in the UK as well as ING’s Network offering. You will be an active member of the Network Sector Coverage Management Teams and Sectors UK Management Team.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Management and coordination of local NSC sector
- Functionally manage relationship management, origination of all WB products
- Support key client teams in relationship development and management
- Commercial performance
- Accountable for revenues and direct costs, and risk/return for local NSC sector
- Increase cross-buy with clients
- Execute global/regional sector strategy on local level
- Active participation in Management Team (MT) NSC and MT Sectors in the UK and involvement with implementation of UK WB Strategy
- Actively share knowledge across countries/ regions
- People perspective
- Responsible for recruitment and performance management.
- Develop local talent and the customer-centric culture within sector
- Sponsor diversity and create atmosphere of continuous learning and sharing expertise
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for someone who is keen to further boost the inbound business of ING in the market and our network, preferably experienced in dealing with international subsidiaries in the UK. We are looking for a people manager with a proven track record of bringing out the best in people and teams and a dedicated senior professional that has the ability and eagerness to bring our client relationships to the next level. We are also looking for an individual with strategic view who is able to grow a business in a very competitive environment. Someone with product expertise, communicative and social skills and good knowledge of our organization are important factors. Essential for this role are an intrinsic interest in market developments and in our clients. Equally important is to be motivated and steer colleagues from various parts of the ING organization. You are an ambassador of our UK franchise in the ING network.
Essential:
- Academic university degree
- Deep relevant working experience in the banking industry with strong business track record (front office)
- Thorough understanding of network banking, its drivers and its mechanisms. Internationally driven and ability to work in multi-cultural deal teams.
- Being able to translate network sector strategy and focus areas into concrete proposals and tailored solutions
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Proven track record in leadership; building, empowering and engaging in high performing teams
- Knowledge of banking products, processes, procedures and ING Strategy
- Demonstrated affinity with global industries, Finance and Agile Working
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Strategic vision, strategy development and implementation
- Business and market awareness; commercial drive
- Able to manage different stakeholders and navigate different cultural environments
- People management & empowerment skills
