Our client has a fantastic opportunity for an OT or in a similar role to work as a Lead Activities Co-ordinator in their care Homes. They will be , responsible for enhancing the quality of life for residents through the development and implementation of engaging and meaningful activities. This position requires a passionate and creative individual who can design an inclusive activity programme that caters to the diverse interests and abilities of older adults. The job holder will build connections with the wider community, engage volunteers, and ensure that all activities foster social interaction, physical engagement, and cognitive stimulation. This role is crucial in creating a vibrant, supportive environment where residents feel valued, connected, and engaged.

* Design and implement a comprehensive yearly activity planner that reflects the interests and needs of residents, encourages both social, mental and appropriate physical stimulation and includes employee diversity.
* Include special events such as seasonal entertainment, major celebrations, cultural themed events and royal occasions.
* Adapt and modify activities based on resident feedback and changing needs.
* Assess resident's specific individual needs, likes and dislikes as the person moves into the home and develop a personal activities programme getting to know the resident as an individual in order to provide stimulating activities to meet varying needs.
* Organise and run at least two community engagement events each year such as summer party/fete or open days working with relatives, charities and the local community.
* Organize and facilitate regular trips and outings for residents, ensuring safety and accessibility including appropriate risk assessments.
* Collaborate with local organizations to create opportunities for community engagement and participation.

* Establish and maintain relationships with local community groups, schools, and organizations to enhance activity offerings.
* Promote the care home's programmes and events to encourage community involvement and awareness
* Foster a positive and welcoming environment for both volunteers and residents.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and outings, using feedback to continually improve programming.
* Maintain records of participation and outcomes on the company care management system and report on the impact of activities on resident well-being.
* Utilize specialist skills (e.g., music, art, crafts, or occupational therapy) to deliver high-quality, interactive programmes that cater to residents' interests and abilities. Requirements:
* Occupational Therapist Qualification/Degree or in Health & Social care
* Proven experience in planning and implementing activities or programmes for older adults, ideally within a care home setting with at least 60 beds.
* Experience in managing volunteers and engaging the community in activities.
* Background in coordinating events or programmes in a health or social care environment.
* Awareness of safeguarding, regulatory requirements and safety standards related to activities in care settings.
* Strong organizational and planning skills to manage a diverse range of activities effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with residents, relatives, staff, volunteers, and the community Creativity in developing and adapting programmes that meet the varied interests and abilities of residents
