Loans Agency Specialist

London

Loan Agency Specialist
Location: London, UK | Full-time

Join a Team at the Centre of Complex Financing Transactions. Help deliver high-profile syndicated loan transactions across EMEA while working with borrowers, lenders, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to build your expertise in a client-facing role with exposure to a broad range of financing structures and industry sectors.

The Team

The London Agency team is part of ING's wider EMEA Agency platform. Acting as Facility and Security Agent on syndicated loans, the team coordinates transactions across sectors including Corporate Banking, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Shipping, and Acquisition Finance. Working closely with offshore colleagues, the team is focused on delivering a high-quality, client-centric service while continuously improving processes and controls.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Loan Agency Specialist, you will support the successful execution and ongoing management of syndicated lending transactions by:

  • Managing deal closings, funds flow, and transaction onboarding.

  • Reviewing facility documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies and market standards.

  • Coordinating with lenders, borrowers, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to deliver transaction milestones.

  • Acting as the primary contact for agency-related queries and issue resolution.

  • Facilitating amendments, waivers, consents, and syndicate communications.

  • Investigating operational issues and mitigating transaction risks.

  • Overseeing offshore servicing activities to ensure excellent client delivery.

How to Succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

  • To be successful in this role, you'll bring proven experience within Loans Agency operations, with a strong understanding of credit documentation and the ability to confidently interpret complex loan agreements. Experience using LoanIQ is essential, enabling you to manage transactions accurately and efficiently from day one.

  • You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills will help you identify issues quickly and deliver effective solutions, while your excellent communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and results-driven, with the confidence to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. You'll enjoy taking ownership, showing initiative, and contributing to a culture where challenges are embraced and opportunities are acted upon.

  • Candidates with exposure to Structured Finance products, such as Real Estate, Acquisition, Shipping, or Infrastructure Finance, will be particularly well placed to succeed. Experience with DebtDomain, ClearPar, or Security Agent activities would be advantageous, as would a passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and challenging the status quo.
