Database Administrator and Web Content Technician

Position Summary:The Database Administrator and Web Content Technician at 1st Shield Security Services is responsible for managing the company’s data systems and maintaining its online presence. This dual role ensures that company databases are secure, efficient, and up to date while also overseeing the creation, updating, and optimization of website content. The position supports both the operational and marketing teams by providing reliable data management and maintaining a professional digital image that reflects the company’s brand and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration:
- Design, manage, and maintain company databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Implement backup, recovery, and data protection procedures to safeguard sensitive information.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot database issues promptly.
- Work with different departments to collect, store, and analyze data related to clients, operations, and sales.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and company data protection policies.
- Develop reports and dashboards to support management decision-making and business insights.
Web Content Management:
- Manage and update the company’s website, ensuring information is accurate, engaging, and aligned with 1st Shield’s brand standards.
- Upload new content including service descriptions, news articles, case studies, staff profiles, and job postings.
- Optimize website content for SEO and user experience to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing and graphic design teams to implement visuals, videos, and digital campaigns.
- Monitor website performance, analytics, and security, reporting any issues or improvements needed.
- Ensure that all online content complies with company policies, accessibility standards, and copyright regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in database administration and web content management.
- Strong understanding of SQL, data backup, and data security principles.
- Proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, or similar)
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Understanding of SEO best practices and digital content optimization.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Experience in the security services or corporate sector is advantageous.
Reporting To:
- IT Manager / Marketing Manager
Work Environment:
Office-based or hybrid, working collaboratively with IT, Marketing, and Operations teams to maintain digital systems and online content.
