Job Description

As the Head of Talent Management, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering our approach to talent development, performance, and organisational capability. As part of the Talent Centre of Expertise, you’ll shape the strategic direction of how we attract, develop, and retain talent across the employee lifecycle — ensuring ASOS is always future-fit and people-powered.

You will lead the creation of our Talent Management Ecosystem, build foundational frameworks, and embed strategies that align with ASOS’s values, business goals, and cultural ambitions. From succession planning to performance management, career development to mobility, you’ll create experiences, processes, and insights that drive performance, strengthen organisational health, and support our inclusive and creative culture.

What You’ll Learn and Contribute To

You’ll work closely with People Partners, Talent & Culture Partners, and senior leaders to design bespoke talent strategies that meet evolving business needs. This includes overseeing performance management practices, supporting leadership development, and shaping how talent is recruited, structured, and moved across the business. You’ll also lead the design of our Employee Value Proposition (EVP), support continuous listening through employee feedback mechanisms, and ensure our talent policies are inclusive, compliant, and impactful. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and making a meaningful difference across the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build ASOS’s talent framework and methodology, covering performance, succession, pipeline development, and mobility in ways that drive both performance and inclusion.
  • Develop and implement the strategic direction for talent management in line with ASOS goals and values, ensuring integration across all people systems and touchpoints.
  • Lead the end-to-end performance management strategy and cycle, focused on driving business outcomes, leadership effectiveness, and development.
  • Design and deliver initiatives that support career growth, capability building, and development at individual, team, and organisational levels.
  • Create and manage policies, programs, and systems that advance talent practices, ensure legal compliance, and elevate employee experience.
  • Proactively identify talent risks and opportunities, using analytics and insight to inform action plans and support future-ready people strategies.
  • Co-lead the design of ASOS’s EVP and internal brand, helping shape the psychological contract and attract/retain high-potential, diverse talent.
  • Develop and embed communication and listening mechanisms that surface employee voice and strengthen talent initiatives through data-driven insight.

We believe being together in person helps us move faster, connect more deeply, and achieve more as a team. That’s why our approach to working together includes spending at least 3 days a week in the office. It’s a rhythm that speeds up decision-making, helps ASOSers learn from each other more quickly, and builds the kind of culture where people can grow, create, and succeed.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

You’ll bring a track record of embedding a clearly defined and widely adopted talent philosophy that fosters a high-performance, inclusive culture. You’ve built and scaled integrated talent management ecosystems that are trusted by leaders and used to drive measurable business outcomes. Your experience includes aligning performance management with organisational goals, enabling continuous improvement and development. You understand how to create a thriving employee experience where people feel empowered to grow and perform, and you take a forward-looking, data-informed approach to organisational health and talent planning.

You will also have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • A natural ability to influence and communicate across all levels, bringing clarity and confidence to complex talent challenges.
  • The ability to use data not just to inform decisions, but to tell compelling stories that drive action.
  • A thoughtful and future-focused, always seeking out trends and insights to inform innovative, context-relevant solutions, with an approach that is grounded in equity and belonging.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity, building from scratch, and scaling with purpose to make a meaningful impact.
  • A certification or qualification in Organisational Development/Effectiveness is highly beneficial.

Excited by the opportunity to make a real impact? Send us your CV and a short cover letter sharing why this role excites you and how your experience aligns.
