A professional and welcoming Receptionist is required to join a well-regarded girls' secondary school in Haringey to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time position on an ongoing basis, suited for a candidate with a strong background in administration and front-of-house coordination who can provide a polished first impression for the school.
The reception is the central hub of the school community, playing a vital role in ensuring daily operations run smoothly and that all visitors and families receive a warm, professional welcome.
The Role
Acting as the first point of contact for the school, managing the busy reception area and handling all telephone and face-to-face enquiries.
Managing the school’s main email inbox, ensuring all correspondence is directed to the relevant staff members efficiently.
Overseeing the visitor entry system, ensuring all safeguarding protocols and ID checks are strictly followed.
Providing administrative support to the senior leadership team and office manager, including data entry and file management.
Coordinating school deliveries and outgoing post, ensuring all items are tracked and distributed correctly.
Maintaining a calm and organized environment, even during high-traffic periods such as the start and end of the school day.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Prior experience in a receptionist or administrative role, ideally within a school or educational setting.
A warm, approachable, and professional manner, with excellent communication skills for dealing with students and parents.
A resilient approach and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
High-level competency in digital platforms, office software, and school management systems (e.g., SIMS or Bromcom).
A methodical and organized approach to administrative tasks and database management.
A proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive office team.
