Baby Room Lead Practitioner - Part Time
What skills and experience we're looking for
Experience and knowledge • Experience working with babies aged 0–2, including leading practice within a baby room• Experience supporting children’s learning, development and care routines
• Strong understanding of child development, attachment and the EYFS framework
• Experience working with parents and families
• Good understanding of safeguarding and early identification of need
• Experience supporting children with a range of needs, including SEND Skills and abilities • Ability to lead high-quality care and learning within a baby room
• Ability to model strong practice and support the development of other staff
• Ability to plan, assess and monitor children’s learning and development
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with babies, families and colleagues
• Ability to organise routines and environments to support high-quality provision
• Strong communication skills, including working with parents and external professionals Desirable experience and skills • Experience as a room lead or in a leadership role within early years
• Experience coaching or mentoring other practitioners
• Experience supporting early communication and language development
• Confidence using assessment information to inform provision
• Experience working in partnership with external agencies Personal qualities • Warm, nurturing and highly responsive to babies’ needs
• Confident, proactive and able to lead by example
• Reflective and committed to continuous improvement
