Junior Motion Designer

Overview
Premier League Studios is seeking a Junior Motion Designer to play a key role in our fan development strategy across the Premier League’s owned and operated channels, using motion design and visual storytelling to make the game more accessible, engaging and understandable for new and casual audiences.

Working closely the Midweight Motion Designer, you will develop content that feels native to the platform, learning what works, why it works, and how great design can elevate storytelling.

We're looking for a hungry, ambitious designer looking to take the next step, with a strong eye for social content, and a desire to continually improve. You will be given the opportunity to learn from experienced creatives, take on increasing responsibility, and develop into a trusted creative contributor within Premier League Studios.

All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

The role

• Take briefs from Producers, Editors and senior creatives, bringing them to life through motion design, editing and visual storytelling.
• Create social-first content across Field of Play and off-pitch output, ensuring creative feels appropriate to the platform and audience.
• Use motion design, graphics and editing techniques, including grading, transitions and effects, to create engaging content.
• Use design and motion to add context, clarity and storytelling, helping audiences understand and connect with the game and narrative.
• Support the development of creative solutions across both field-of-play and off-pitch content.
• Build motion graphics templates and support Assistant Producers and Editors to self-service content efficiently.
• Respond to live moments and contribute to content that may be briefed, created and published within minutes or hours.
• Participate in weekend work and matchday operations, supporting live football content in a fast-paced editorial environment.
• Work closely with Producers, Editors and senior creatives to interpret briefs and deliver content against creative objectives.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture, sharing ideas, inspiration and creative references.

Requirements for the role

• A passion for social content, motion design and visual storytelling.
• A strong eye for design, motion and storytelling, with the ability to create content that captures attention and connects with audiences.
• Understanding of social media platforms, with curiosity around what makes content perform across different channels.
• Curiosity around content performance, audience insights and platform trends, using feedback and results to continuously improve creative output.
• Understanding of how audiences consume content across social platforms and how this should shape creative output.
• Understanding of the role design can play in improving comprehension, retention and accessibility for audiences who may be less familiar with the sport.
• Ability to work at pace in a high-volume, fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.
• Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities and respond positively to feedback.
• Ambitious, motivated and eager to develop, with a proactive approach to learning and taking on new challenges.
