About the role

The Commercial Delivery Manager is responsible for leading the delivery and optimisation of IAG Cargo’s commercial plan in the tactical window close to the day of operation. This key leadership role will own integrated planning decisions in the tactical window, coordinating revenue generating activities whilst making decisions that maximise financial contribution and optimise planning handovers to Operations teams across the business. Commercial Delivery Managers work on shift with line management responsibility for teams of Flight Planners as well as acting as the core escalation point internally and externally where required for commercial decision making outside of core office hours

What you’ll do

• On shift management. Making dynamic data driven decisions whilst leading integrated planning teams that protect IAG Cargo’s commercial delivery, maximise contribution and facilitate the delivery of a robust operation.

• Line management of a team of Flight Planners, ensuring teams are given clear direction to implement decisions that make best use of capacity and maximise freight uplift that are aligned across Commercial and Operations.

• Proactively champion and implement new ways of working that will support the growth of contribution and maximise operational performance both day to day and as part of IAG Cargo’s transformation plan.

• Manage commercial and operational restrictions in the tactical window, using data and feedback from Commercial and Operations teams to optimise use of capacity, maximise contribution and deliver against operational targets.

• Work closely alongside teams across Integrated Planning, Commercial, Sales and Operations as well as external third parties including airline Load Control, Ground Operations and Global Operations to lead on the delivery of IAG Cargo’s commercial plan.

• Working alongside the Tactical Capacity Manager to coordinate backlog clearance, consolidation opportunities and reporting.

• Ownership of the operational handover, including ownership of offloads and subsequent actions taken to prepare recovery of cargo.

• Manage offshore suppliers where required to optimise day to day execution of the flight setup, flight handover and other key integrated planning processes.

• Ensure planning processes comply with safety, legislative, and operational standards, taking ownership of backlog recovery strategies, offload avoidance and recovery.

• Act as the escalation point to coordinate disruption responses. Representative for Commercial during the standup of the Cargo Crisis Management Team and where required representing IAG Cargo during airline operating company crisis responses.

• Proven commercial mindset with the ability to make decisions that maximise revenue and balance operational constraints

• Data driven and dynamic decision-making under pressure

• Resilient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills

• Experience managing or working in a unionised environment.

• Experience working in airline/cargo Commercial and/or Operations functions.

• Target driven and proven ability to balance financial, Commercial and Operational KPIs

Skills and Experience:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in airline/cargo logistics.

• Demonstrable track record in commercial operations, live planning or cargo network management.

• Experience leading tactical decision-making in a fast-paced, complex environment
