Technical Business Analyst

Purpose of the job
A Technical Business Analyst works as a key member of the product development team to specify system functions that deliver our customers’ business requirements and to provide support for development, testing and implementation of system solutions.Technical Business Analysts perform a range of activities that span traditional business and systems analysis; defining scope and requirements, identifying opportunities, reviewing and proposing potential solutions.
Technical Business Analysts are active advisors to both our customers and our development teams and duties will incorporate: stakeholder management, product management, system implementation and data analytics.
Our Insurance team is looking to grow their capacity with a Technical Business Analyst, experienced in process automation of finance systems. Key Responsibilities · Contribute to the technical strategy to deliver system functionality and support the future development and expansion of Collinson’s Insurance division. · Support the development roadmaps for business systems within the Insurance division to deliver the sustainable, long term benefits as defined by Product Owners · Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business and technical functions, to understand objectives and requirements and translate these into the creation of new system features and enhancements· Carry out analysis of business data and specify processes to transform and store the data in a strategic architecture
· Identify processes and tools to convert data into business intelligence
· Analyse business processes to identify requirements and improvements
· Work with stakeholders to plan and complete requirement gathering and analysis activities
· Provide clearly defined acceptance criteria to development and QA teams to enable accurate development and testing
· Collaborate with development and QA teams to design and implement new features
· Ensure quality of data in customer deliverables via rigorous quality review prior to release
· Maintain communication with stakeholders during development, testing and implementation of product improvements
· Identify novel opportunities using data to solve business challenges
· Contribute to regular team meetings to refine the product backlog, prioritise work items and discuss key decisions, risks and issues
· Support and train team members on existing and new processes
· Provide cover for team members as required
· Define and follow analysis standards and be an active contributor to the progression of the analysis role within the Insurance division.
Knowledge, skills and experience required · Experience in general insurance, or equivalent experience with a good understanding of a regulated industry e.g. financial services · Experience working with a range of system solutions such as sales and service platforms, claims handling products and data management solutions. · Understanding of Finance systems (such as SAP), accounting data and practices will be a significant advantage · Expertise in the analysis of data, producing data models and using data to deliver business benefit · Proficient in delivering and refining product back-logs, including user stories and acceptance criteria, in an Agile framework · An ability to take a customer centric approach, covering customer and user experience,customer journey mapping and UI/UX design thinking · Experience in transforming processes, ways of working and applying continuous improvement · Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to engage and bring together process,
functional and commercial owners · Experience working with a variety of delivery models including Scrum, Kanban, waterfall etc · Effective communication with engineering development and testing teams to clarify and deliver solutions · Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Ability to work effectively with technology services groups and other management teams on a global, virtual basis · Comfortable working on own initiative to support the success objectives of the whole team
