About the Role
As Receptionist, you will manage the school's main reception area and provide an efficient and welcoming front-of-house service. You will deal with telephone and email enquiries, greet visitors, maintain visitor records, and provide administrative support to staff and the wider school.
You will also assist with pupil attendance enquiries, signing-in procedures, deliveries, correspondence, and general office administration. The role requires someone who can remain organised while managing multiple tasks in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the school's main reception and welcome visitors professionally
Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to general enquiries
Sign visitors in and out while following safeguarding procedures
Maintain accurate visitor and reception records
Assist parents, pupils, staff, and external visitors with queries
Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
Support the wider administration team with general office duties
Assist with attendance and pupil-related administrative tasks
Ensure reception and communal areas remain professional and welcoming

Essential Requirements
Previous experience in reception, administration, customer service, or a similar role
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and administrative abilities
Confident using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems
Professional telephone manner and presentation
Ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
Desirable
Previous experience working within a school or educational setting
Knowledge of school management information systems
Understanding of safeguarding procedures
Experience dealing with parents, pupils, and external professionals
