The Teaching Assistant Job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with a diagnosis of autism (ASD), including some pupils with more complex needs. You will work closely with learners on a one-to-one basis, helping them to engage with their learning while developing independence, literacy, and numeracy skills.
This role is ideal for someone who brings patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. You will play a vital part in helping pupils reach their potential and achieve meaningful progress in a nurturing setting.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will experience a high level of job satisfaction, working with primary-aged students who benefit from additional support to build independence and essential life skills. Pupils follow a carefully adapted curriculum designed to meet their individual learning needs.

The Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
Work closely with class teachers to support pupil learning and attainment
Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and social inclusion
Support pupils individually or in small groups to help them access the curriculum
Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and classroom resources
Encourage full participation in learning and extracurricular activities
Use consistent behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
Help maintain a safe, engaging, and well-organised learning environment
