Senior Executive Assistant
Shape the future of executive support at Cynergy Bank.
Join us as a Senior Executive Assistant and become a trusted partner at the heart of Cynergy Bank. Supporting our most senior leaders and helping connect our Executive Assistant community, you will have the opportunity to influence how executive support is delivered across the Bank.
This is a high-profile role for an accomplished Executive Assistant who combines exceptional organisational skills with sound judgement, discretion and a passion for improving how people work.
What’s the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, you will provide proactive, high-quality executive support to the CEO, Chairperson, Board and senior Executive Committee stakeholders.
Alongside this core responsibility, you will act as a visible lead across our Executive Assistant community, building stronger connections, championing consistent standards and helping create a cohesive executive support service.
This is not a formal people management position. Your impact will come through influence, credibility, coaching and leading by example. You will also help the function embrace AI and digital tools thoughtfully, identifying practical ways to improve planning, communication, workflow management and meeting effectiveness while maintaining the discretion and governance expected within a regulated bank.
Where You Will Work
This role is based in our Central London office and has a greater on-site requirement than our standard hybrid working model.
You will work:
Four days each week in the office
One day each week from home
Five days in the office during one week each month, to support Board coverage
The successful candidate must be comfortable working within this pattern, reflecting the highly visible and relationship-led nature of the role.
Why Join Us?
We know the best people want more than just a job. At Cynergy Bank, you will find:
Influence: Work closely with the CEO, Chairperson, Board and senior leaders, with the opportunity to improve how executive support operates across the Bank.
Innovation: Help shape the practical and responsible use of AI and digital tools within the Executive Assistant community.
Variety: Operate across executive priorities, Board and Committee activity, communications, events, governance and business-wide initiatives.
Growth: Strengthen your leadership profile through influence, coaching and cross-functional collaboration.
Rewards: A competitive salary and benefits package designed to recognise your skills and contribution.
How You Will Make an Impact
Provide proactive, high-quality executive support to the CEO, Chairperson and Board, anticipating requirements and managing complex priorities with confidence and discretion.
Take ownership of sophisticated inbox and diary management, ensuring senior leaders’ time remains focused on the Bank’s strategic priorities.
Act as a senior point of coordination across the Executive Assistant community, promoting collaboration, consistent standards and shared ways of working.
Coordinate CEO, Executive Committee, Board and Committee meetings, including agendas, logistics, papers, action tracking and follow-through.
Support effective communication between the CEO’s office, senior leaders, Board Directors, UK regulators and other key stakeholders.
Champion best practice across diary management, meetings, travel, events, executive communications and stakeholder engagement.
Identify practical opportunities to use AI, automation and digital tools to reduce manual effort, improve consistency and enhance the executive support experience.
Encourage the responsible adoption of new technology across the Executive Assistant community by sharing learning and leading by example.
Coordinate travel, appointments, events, business functions and CEO-led colleague communications, ensuring arrangements and supporting materials are delivered to a high standard.
Lead or contribute to projects, research and process improvements that strengthen the effectiveness and resilience of the Executive Support function.
What You Will Bring
Significant experience as a Senior Executive Assistant supporting a CEO, Chairperson, Board or similarly senior stakeholders.
Experience working with Boards, Committees and senior governance forums, ideally within financial services or another regulated environment.
Exceptional inbox, diary, meeting and workflow management skills, with the ability to anticipate needs and manage competing priorities at pace.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the credibility, judgement and discretion to engage confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders.
A collaborative and influential leadership style, with experience improving processes, establishing consistent ways of working and bringing colleagues together without formal authority.
Confidence using Microsoft 365, AI, automation and digital productivity tools, combined with the curiosity and sound judgement to apply technology safely and effectively.
