Media and Marketing Officer

Central London

Our client is one of the country’s longest established companies within the built heritage sector. They have an opportunity for a Media & Marketing Officer ideally with construction experience.

Salary: £28K – £35K per annum negotiable dependent on level of experience

The Role

Responsibilities and duties would include but are not limited to the following;

To promote the company and support the delivery of the business development function to maximise the firms market presence nationally/internationally. To support the pre-construction and pre-tender process, including managing, writing/developing pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ), bid support, tender submissions and post-tender promotion. Working closely with the Technical Director and estimating and operations teams to meet deadlines and create content/proposals that are tailored to the client/project. Oversee the brand and media policy, identity of the organisation and its services, building the brand image, adhering to the Brand & Comms plan and ensuring consistent communication of brand values, USPs and TOV. To create and manage social and technical content to maximise exposure of the business via; the company website, events, video, printed and web-based media providing consistency and to support the corporate brand.
Marketing
• To provide support to the Technical Director to develop new and manage existing clients across our market sectors.
• To collate market research and marketing material within the sector.
• Collate secondary research (including websites/tenders/trade and industry information).
• Improve and implement business development administrative best practice where necessary.
• To ensure the efficiency of the firm’s business development function including liaison with the wider team as required.
• Writing and developing prequalification questionnaires using the company information library including liaison with the wider team as required.
• Identify and update staff CVs to meet the specific requirements of a PQQ or tender.
• Produce high quality bid support information to be reviewed by business unit leaders.
• Maintain the PQQ library – and updating information regularly.
• Maintain relevant industry marketing subscriptions
• Maintain chosen tendering portal access and data arising
• Reviewing tender portals to identify selected projects for inclusion in our Pipeline of work for the following 2-3 years.
• Review accreditations for the Built Heritage sector including our competitors and feedback to the Technical Director
• Maintain training and ability in document design/control to ensure high quality consultancy service.
• To maintain best practice and standardisation of documents/procedures for the marketing/technical department.
• Manage our Client lists and update contact information
• Maintain records of client contacts on the company database (i.e. SPMS or any replacement CRM equivalent)
• To co-ordinate the issue of Customer Satisfaction Surveys and ensure their return
• To input the data obtained in the customer surveys to provide meaningful management information for the company
• Manage CPD events and attendees.
• Design and develop media releases.
• Design and deliver events management.
• Meet and or exceed marketing targets and goals.
• Regularly report on progress for marketing and targeted goals.

Media Management
• Establish and maintain our consistent brand across all media formats
• Create and manage structured Press Releases & Social Media (LinkedIn/Instagram)
• Monitor feedback for brand management and to ensure maximised content
• Manage, update and develop the company website to ensure full access and stability in all formats.
• Ensure web data and content are search engine optimised
• Procure and analyse web analytics to provide regular feedback
• Manage and update subscriber lists for updates and events
• Monitor statistical information providing feedback and recommendations
• Identify market and competitor trends
• Procure and manage artwork, design information for industry events/adverts against an agreed budget and to the target audience
• Define and manage key marketing titles, primary & secondary
• Identify relevant industry award opportunities and manage their timely submission
• Establish a relevant list of industry journalists, media influencers
• Update the firm’s news, accreditations and industry standards through all media formats
• Review competitors’ websites, communications/advertising and recommend actions arising.
• Review and report key market news nationally for the sector to identify opportunities for next 2-3 years
• Manage and co-ordinate national marketing, training, and CPD events for the firm
• Organisation of seminars/technical presentations and exhibitions
• Negotiate advertising rates in selected media journals/formats.
• Manage the firm’s social media output including communications, video, interviews, technical proposals, tender bid support, site visits, networking events nationally.
• Manage corporate/project photography, drone work, videos and messaging.
• Support our consultancy service with technical communications, marketing and reporting.
• Support our projects with technical communications, marketing and project reporting.
• Meet and or exceed media targets and goals.
• Regularly report on progress for media and targeted goals.

The Person

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to establish/maintain strong working relationships with our Clients, Supply chain, our Directors and whole team.
• Proactive approach to project monitoring, development and Client management.
• Ability in visual media/marketing design to produce written and visual documents for presentation for the firms marketing function (including media tools including Canva, Adobe, PDF, PowerPoint and others).
• Be able to respond to changing situations quickly and positively
• Experience working on construction projects and or the built heritage industry.
• Experience using Marketing/Media software packages and all other Office based software
• Capability in producing PQQ, bid support documents, including technical literature, to amplify and improve the quality of our marketing materials
• Capability in digital media development and management
• UK driving licence (to travel to jobs outside London if required)
• Able to work in the UK legally
