Inventory Operations Manager
We are currently recruiting an Inventory Operations Manager to join our Inventory & Supply team. This team provides warehousing, storage and distribution of materials and critical equipment across the entire business for our front-line teams. Operating on a 24/7 -365 basis, the Inventory and Supply Management team are the custodian of materials and critical equipment held in various TW inventory locations for distribution across the whole Thames Water Area.
This role is critical to ensuring the safe custody, real-time visibility, and timely delivery of critical materials and equipment to support front-line operations, which is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the resilience and efficiency of Thames Water’s supply chain operations.
- Oversee the establishment and management of storage locations in alignment with service level agreements across multiple sites
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and inventory control processes
- Lead and develop a team of inventory operatives, maintaining performance standards and operational readiness
- Coach and develop team members, manage rotas, and uphold performance standards
- Manage inbound receipt and outbound distribution of critical materials using SAP Warehouse Management and RF technology
- Maintain accurate stock records and ensure zero discrepancies across all locations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure service continuity during incidents and emergencies
Working Hours – Full-Time – 45 hours per week, On-Call Requirement What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
- Experience in warehouse and inventory management
- Demonstrable expertise in SAP WM and RF systems (essential)
- Proven leadership experience in logistics or warehousing operations
- Valid forklift licenses (counterbalance and reach truck)
- Strong communication, organisational, and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Full driving license
- Offering between £47,000 to £52,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.
- 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
- Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
