Kitchen Supervisor – Dirty Martini

We are looking for a Kitchen Supervisor to take on and efficiently run our small kitchen in our cocktail bar by Monument in the City of London.

This role is a one person operation delivering our small plates menu and bottomless brunch menu and canape menu for corporate venue hires. As the Kitchen Supervisor you will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen operation including -

> Stock Counts

> Stock orders/ Stock Control

> Managing GPs

> Kitchen Cleanliness

> Food Prep/ Food delivery

> Food Standards/ Expectations

> Food Due Diligence through RiskProof (Shield Audit)

This role is suitable for someone that currently works in a similar role operating a small kitchen in a bar or pub. Our menu consists of small plates menu, Platters, brunch menu and canape style menu for large pre-booked corporate events.

We will only contact candidates that can demonstrate they have this experience on their CV, based in London with the right to work in the UK with no Visa restrictions.

The weekly shift pattern is standard 5 days week (approx. 35 hours per week) -

> MONDAY - Stock Count/ Stock Order/ Kitchen Deep Clean 10am to 5pm

> TUESDAY - OFF

> WEDNESDAY - 4pm to 10pm

> THURSDAY - 4pm to 10pm

> FRIDAY - 4pm to 10pm

> SATURDAY - 1pm to 10pm

> SUNDAY - OFF

What We Need:

As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen and ensuring the smooth functioning of the culinary team. Your leadership, culinary expertise, and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining high-quality standards, coordinating kitchen activities, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen personnel.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to standardized recipes and maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and portion sizes to deliver high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet customer demand and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
  • Assist in monitoring kitchen inventory and supplies, ensuring that necessary ingredients and equipment are available for smooth operations.
  • Enforce strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to maintain a cohesive and collaborative kitchen environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a kitchen supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and cuisines.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
