Product Technologist, Footwear & Accessories, Menswear (12 month fixed term contract)

REISS
London

What’s the role about?

We’re looking for a detail orientated Menswear Garment Technologist focusing on our Footwear & Accessories department. Reporting to the Senior Garment Technologist, you’ll work closely with Design, Product Development, Buying and Merchandising to ensure our footwear and accessories collections meet the highest Reiss standards for fit, quality and performance.

This role is responsible for managing the technical development of Menswear Footwear, Accessories and selected Outlet product categories from initial concept through to production. You’ll play a key role in ensuring product integrity throughout the development process, collaborating closely with suppliers and internal teams to deliver consistently high-quality products that align with the Reiss brand.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Who you are

  • Experienced in footwear and accessories technology, ideally within a premium fashion environment.
  • Detail-focused with a strong understanding of materials, leather qualities, trims and product construction.
  • Comfortable managing the full technical development process, from concept through to production.
  • A confident communicator who collaborates effectively with Design, Buying, Product Development and suppliers.
  • Highly organised with strong critical path awareness and the ability to manage multiple styles simultaneously.
  • A proactive problem-solver who can identify risks early and implement technical solutions to improve quality and performance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the technical development of the Menswear Footwear, Accessories and Outlet collections, from design concept through sealing and into production.
  • Leading fit sessions with Design and Buying teams to ensure product quality, fit and construction meet Reiss standards.
  • Maintaining and updating technical packs with clear fit comments, measurement specifications and supplier instructions aligned with the critical path.
  • Using your technical expertise to improve product quality, construction and cost efficiency where possible.
  • Assessing materials including leathers, trims and innovations, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing risk assessments in collaboration with Product Development, identifying potential issues early in the development process.
  • Approving test reports and wash care instructions while working with suppliers to improve performance and compliance.
  • Monitoring the critical path across development stages, attending progress meetings and communicating with suppliers to track sample and production timelines.
  • Managing QC issues, reviewing rejected products and working with suppliers to implement corrective actions and prevent repeat issues.
  • Overseeing testing and compliance procedures, guiding suppliers through the approval process and ensuring all products meet required standards.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and company bonus.
  • Up to 65% employee discount.
  • Access to exclusive sample sales.
  • Aviva DigiCare+ wellbeing services.
  • Medicash health support plan.
  • Workplace pension contributions.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus Energy.
  • Cycle to Work programme.
  • Season ticket travel loan.
  • Plus further workplace benefits.
