Business Development Manager
emerchantpay is a leading global payment service provider and acquirer for online, mobile, in-store and over the phone payments. Our global payments solution is available through a simple integration, offering a diverse range of features, including global acquiring, global and local payment methods, advanced fraud management and performance optimisation. We empower businesses to design seamless and engaging payment experiences for their consumers.
We are looking for an Business Development Manager (BDM)to drive growth within our payments business. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with a strong understanding of payment gateways , merchant acquiring, and the broader payments ecosystem.
You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing key relationships, and expanding partnerships with merchants, ISVs, and technology partners—particularly those utilising gateways such as Cybersource and Cardstream .
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the payments and fintech space
- Build and manage strong relationships with merchants, partners, and gateway providers
- Leverage experience with Cybersource, Cardstream , or similar gateways to support payment solutions
- Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and pitching to contract negotiation and onboarding
- Work closely with internal teams (product, technical, operations, and risk) to deliver tailored payment solutions
- Maintain a strong pipeline and consistently achieve revenue targets
- Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments in payments.
Skills & Experience
- Experience as a Business Development Manager/ Account Manager/ Relationship Manager within payments, fintech, or merchant acquiring
- Hands-on experience working with payment gateways such as Cybersource, Cardstream , or equivalent platforms
- Strong understanding of card payments, alternative payment methods, and payment processing flows
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles and complex stakeholder environments
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling to eCommerce merchants
- Knowledge of cross-border payments
- Existing network within the payments or fintech ecosystem.
