Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic hospital team in London. This role involves working with adult inpatients across acute wards, providing specialist assessment and intervention for a range of communication and swallowing disorders.
This position is ideal for a therapist with solid acute experience and competency in videofluoroscopy, who is confident leading clinics and contributing to high-quality patient care. Tracheostomy and FEES skills are desirable but not essential. You will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to improving patient outcomes and supporting professional development.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Assess, diagnose, and treat adults with complex communication and swallowing difficulties in an acute inpatient setting.
Lead videofluoroscopy clinics and provide expert interpretation of results.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and hospital standards.
Contribute to service development, training, and professional supervision as required.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Significant experience working with adult inpatients in acute settings.
Videofluoroscopy competency, ideally with experience of leading clinics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Tracheostomy and FEES skills (desirable).
A proactive and reflective approach to professional development.
